Southern California Motorcycling Association
Forum Standards
Board Resolution 2013.1
Adopted July 16, 2013

Article One: Introduction
The Southern California Motorcycling Association, its website SC-MA.com and all other websites owned or controlled by the Southern California Motorcycling Association provide forums for the use of its members and the riding community. These forums are intended to provide information about motorcycle riding events and techniques, facilitate community, share experiences, provide advice, discuss and debate a variety of motorcycling-related subjects and promote safe riding. Although SCMA encourages such discussions to be as open and unfettered as possible, all participants must abide by these Forum Standards.

Article Two: Ability to Post, Invitation to Post
The SCMA forums may be viewed by anyone but posting can occur only by SCMA members in good standing. SCMA Life Members, Regular Members and Sponsoring Corporate Members may post.
All members are encouraged to post relevant and timely subject matter of common interest to other members in the SCMA motorcycle riding community. The free-flow of information, observations, questions, advice and support of others is encouraged and welcomed. All members are invited to share their points-of-view on the policies and practices of SCMA related to its riding events and the conduct of its business. Postings must be civilized, respectful and fair.

Article Three: Non-commercial Solicitations for Sale
SCMA encourages the use of the forums for the resale of Three Flags Classic riding tickets and the resale of motorcycle-related property owned by the user. All transactions are the sole responsibility of the buyer and seller. SCMA does not monitor, warrant or guarantee the tickets, goods and services transacted as a result of appearing on its forums.
The forums can be used only for noncommercial purposes. Users cannot advertise the sale of commercial goods or services.

Article Four: Forum Posting Etiquette
When discussing a news article or other posted content from an SCMA website, a user should refrain from reprinting the entire content in the post. Excerpts from articles are fine, and linking to external articles and content is encouraged.
Graphics are discouraged because improperly-formatted graphics often make threads unreadable, and large graphic files make thread downloads unwieldy.

Article Five: Inappropriate Forum Content
Users may not post content that is libelous, defamatory, harmful, obscene, pornographic, abusive, or illegal. Users may not post content that:
• Infringes copyrights, trademarks, publicity or any other rights of others;
• Is defamatory or libelous;
• Is abusive, harassing, or threatening;
• Is cruel or disrespectful;
• Is obscene, vulgar, or profane;
• Contains a virus or inhibits another person’s enjoyment of the website;
• Violates someone’s privacy;
• Impersonates anyone (actual or fictitious), is known to be inaccurate or contains a false attribution;
• Is racially, ethnically or religiously offensive;
• Is illegal or encourages criminal acts, or;
• Could expose SCMA to liability.
Users may not post off-topic messages or spam or deliberately disrupt our forums.

Article Six: SCMA’s Right to Edit, Move and Remove Content
We reserve the right to delete, edit or move any content that we deem, at our sole and absolute discretion, to be inappropriate or fails to conform to Article Five. We reserve the right to delete, move, or edit content that we deem abusive, defamatory, obscene, in violation of copyright or trademark laws, or otherwise unacceptable.
The timing, extent and decision to delete, edit or move content is at the sole determination of SCMA.
SCMA is not obligated to honor requests to remove or edit posts.

Article Seven: Loss of Privilege to Post
We reserve the right to remove the posting privileges of users who frequently violate these standards. SCMA will provide an abusive poster fair and prior warning and then notice before blocking his/her ability to post.

Article Eight: Right of Appeal, Appeal Process
A user whose content has been edited or has been blocked from posting on a forum may appeal the decision to the SCMA Board of Directors.
The appeal shall consist of a written submittal sufficiently detailed to support the grounds of the appeal. It shall be mailed to SCMA Board of Directors, PO Box 487, Norwalk, CA 90651. The board will consider the appeal at its next regularly scheduled meeting. The written appeal shall serve as the basis of the board’s consideration. Oral testimony will not be allowed. The board shall make its determination while in executive session and shall inform the appellant in writing within 5 business days of its determination.

Article Nine: Responsibility of Users that Post to SCMA Forums
Users remain solely responsible for the content of their messages. SCMA is not responsible for the content of messages posted by users.

Article Ten: Public Communications
SCMA reminds all users that our forums are accessible to the public, are not private communications and that others may read postings without the knowledge of the user. We encourage all users to use caution when posting personally identifying information about the user, family or third parties.

Article Eleven: Accuracy of Information Contained on the Forums
We do not endorse or warrant and cannot confirm the accuracy of any advice offered through the SCMA forums. Forum users are encouraged to use caution when advice is offered and to perform their own due diligence before relying on any advice offered through the SCMA forums.

Article Twelve: Use of Information Contained on the Forums
While using the SCMA online forums, users may obtain information about other users. Users may not use the information to cause direct or indirect harm or inconvenience to other users and third parties.

See you on the road
