there are delays of 15 to30 minutes during the day, and up to hour at night on ca 120 in Yosemite park.

Dominic, thanks for posting. Riding through Yosemite is a bit of anquish to the nth degree.
I personally like to come out of Death Valley, visit Manzanar, Postpile, then visit the east gate on 120.
The Rangers have stamps at the booth and will gladly stamp your passport saving you the time to ride into the valley.
from this point it is an easy ride to Lassen and Lava then heading south to Whiskey and Crescent City.
