Thanks, Larry. I truly hope that EVERY rider will read that post about CP # 1, and heed my advice.

Have a great ride this year.

Is there anyone who knows the way into Mexico to our hotel? I'd like to be able to follow someone in from the border or near the border.

I missed last year‘s ride into Mexico due to hurricane Harvey. My last four experiences going into Mexico were not good. Being robbed by local police was one of the four. Will there be any people gathering near the border to go across as a group. I would like to go in a large crowd on the 29th

To Vicky, and all others, YES...there is a perfect gathering place on the USA side of the border crossing, at the Lukeville crossing.

Immediately prior to crossing the border, on your RIGHT hand side of the roadway, there is a very good gas station, and a place to even park in the shade.

I would suggest that any and all riders that want to go across the border IN a group ride, wait at that gas station, park in the shade, go inside an get something cold to drink (not a beer...ya wankers)...and wait for other riders to show up.

To those of you that can serve as escort riders...when you approach that gas station on the RIGHT, immediately before crossing the border.....if you see any bikes...even one (1) bike...parked at the gas station, STOP.....go INSIDE...and ask the rider is they would like an escort across the border and the 63 miles down to the Start Hotel in Puerto Penasco.

Let's ALL take care of one another by doing this.

Now, ALL of you, go back to page # 12 here, and READ my very long post about the latest info on the Checkpoints. There will be a test...... 😮

Excellent point. My ETA at the border is around 1:45 - 2 PM. If I see anyone who wants to, I’ll take em. Keep in mind this is the first time I’m going to this resort. May the GPS force be with me!

You can count 2 more bikes at the gas station on the 29th around 2:00, that is our planned time of arrival. We will be looking for others before we cross. Safety in numbers. I rode the ride last year solo and got to Lukeville and called it a ride and called in because I didn’t want to cross solo or deal with the crowd on the way back Monday. This year, again I say safety in numbers.

I planning on staying in Gila Bend on the 29th and crossing at Lukeville on the 30th.
Hope to see bikes to cross the border with at the Gas station.

I will be staying at the Palm Inn in Gila Bend on Aug 28. I also will be at the border gas station at 1:30 on the 29th. I have a spare bed at the hotel if anyone wants to share. Email me at dwjoynt at yahoo dot com.
