Starting in 2024 The SCMA will start using applications, phone apps to track your journeys. The first ride to utilize this will the Mother Road Adventure, Route 66 Photo Tour. The goal is PHOTO and JOURNAL your adventure. At the end you will submit your journal to the appropriate ride chair signaling you have completed the challenge.
There are numerous benefits to using journaling apps:
The journal is backed up on the cloud, loss of information is minimized
Physical loss is minimized, receipts, photos are not loss from physical loss, even loss of the phone is covered and will be reloaded when new phone is in place.
There is no need for printing photos at then end of the adventure, just email
There is no postage necessary at the end of the adventure
There is a yearly charge for using Day One but can be used for all your journaling, not just SCMA challenges. While the Mother Road Adventure is the first Challenge to use journaling others will quickly follow.
Day One is simple to use and incorporates text, photos and docs. It works like other apps on your phone.
