- After selecting from Series A, B, C, and D, and after completing your registration:
- You must ride your motorcycle the entire distances to and from home, and from one end of the road section listed to the other.
- You may ride the road sections in any order and in either direction.
- In the event of a road closure, ride to the closure sign to take the photo.
- On each road collect the following:
- A gas receipt or store receipt clearly showing the date, time, and location at both ends of each road.
- A photo of yourself (the registrant) with your motorcycle and a road sign or recognizable landmark to identify the location.
- Before you can start this event, YOU MUST SUBMIT A RELEASE OF LIABILITY (ROL):
- ADULT RIDER/PASSENGER
- MINOR RIDER/PASSENGER RELEASE OF LIABILITY
- SIGN a Release of Liability form and return it to the SCMA via email or physical mail.
- Upon receipt of your Release of Liability, you will receive a CLEAR TO RIDE EMAIL or be provided with start materials via physical mail.
- Registration and riding begin on January 15 and conclude on December 15 each year. ALL roads must be ridden in one calendar year between January 15th and December 15th, with ride logs submitted no later than December 15th. Each year requires a current Release of Liability form.
- There are no time extensions for any reason, including weather, mechanical failures, accidents, illness, etc. The year of registration is considered the calendar year of eligibility.
- There are 2 options for collecting and submitting your records:
- You may choose to document each visit with your selfie recorded in SpotWalla. If you take a photo of the receipt on the page in the book and record it in SpotWalla, you could email the SpotWalla records by December 15 to the Ride Chair instead of sending the completed book as described in the next bullet. Refer to the Electronic Journaling page for more information about SpotWalla.
- OR, The receipts and photos must be assembled into the Roads Challenge Book and sent to the Chairman of the CA Adventure Series for approval to certify the participant as a Finisher of the Challenge. Submit your completed Roads Challenge Book by December 15 to:
- ATTN: SCMA CA Adventures Series
- Les Gullery
- PO Box 2652
- Canyon Country, CA 91386
- Riders who successfully complete the SCMA CAS Roads Challenge will receive a personally engraved plaque to commemorate their accomplishment! Plaques are created at the end of the year and are distributed at the awards banquet, or mailed per request.
