Buckles
Three Flags Classic (TFC) belt buckles were awarded to TFC ride finishers, typically at the finish, starting in 1976. The buckles started with an image of a touring motorcycle, the year, the anniversary and a depiction of the Mexican, US, and Canadian flags. The British Columbia Road Riders (BCRR is stamped on some) were early partners with the SCMA. Start and finish city names, then an iconic image for each of the cities, plus the total mileage were added. The brass buckles vary from simple to flashy and rustic to modern. Those from 5-year anniversary years usually got special attention and sometimes chrome plating. We will add some of the details such as whose initials are stamped on some of the belt buckle designs and any other messages that were occasionally added to the back of the buckles.
